I get a lot of correspondence asking if Avaya’s SPB is real and what if any adoption is the industry seeing around SPB. While there are a few different vendors providing SPB based solutions it’s pretty clear that Avaya is leading the pack.
Dominik, one of our discussion forum moderators, was a recent guest to the Packet Pushers podcast in Show 210 – SPB Implementation Fundamentals where he discussed his SPB implementations with Ethan and Greg and Ricki Cook.
I’d recommend you give a listen if you are at all interested in how SPB works.
Cheers!

Hope you enjoyed the show.
SPB is out there in real world deployments and has shown that it works reliable.
As mentioned in the show also one of the main benefits for SPB is in my opinion to reduce
manual configurations.
Cheers

Thanks Dominik,
I build a big plan here in Brazil to use SPB, all environment will use it and its awesome see when all switches are configured and working running SPB.
Here in BR i took the first case to a big company in Rio de Janeiro, but dont have many companies betting in this solution, I know that work and use it to share multicast video between all switches VSP9000 and ERS8800 very well.

Great to hear that SPB is also used in South America.
Always a good feeling to use a new technology instead of doing old diegns that
does not fit anymore.
Hope SPB will serve you well for your projects.
