While I’m not a rabid soccer (football) fan I enjoy following the various soccer teams and the 2014 World Cup is no exception. The tournament is scheduled to kick off tomorrow in Brazil, although there’s been some dissent by the country’s citizens around the cost of the event. The United States along with Germany (ranked #1), Portugal, and Ghana are playing in Group G which has been referred to by many as the Group of Death.
Portugal faced off against Ireland this past week at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey and while I didn’t get an opportunity to attend the match I read that Cristiano Ronaldo looked very good in that game against the Irish. There’s also been a lot of debate around Jurgen Klinsmann cutting Landon Donovan from the US team. I’m not sure who will have the last word but today we learned that Landon Donovan will be a commentator for EPSN.
Watching online? Here in the United States you can watch all the games online via the WatchESPN or WatchABC website or mobile apps, you’ll need to be a cable subscriber to watch the games from EPSN or ABC.
Who will you be cheering for?
Cheers!

Looking forward for the match USA vs Germany today.
Both teams would be in the KO rounds , if the game would be a draw.
Here in Germany everybody hopes that the Klose will shoot another goal,
so he would be the most successfull striker in the history of the Word Cup.
In fact Klinsmann has a deep insight knowledge of the German team that could be an advantage for the US team.
Enjoy the game,
Dom

Hi Dom,
I thought it was a pretty good game… opportunities for both sides but in the end Germany was able to put the ball where it counts – in the goal. It’ll be interesting to see how they play in the next round.
Cheers!

What a semi final yesterday Germany scored 7:1 against Brazil.
Nobody has expected that, unbelivabel.
Here in Germany everbody is looking forward for the final.

That was a wild game indeed… when I first turned it on the score was already 4-0, then quickly after that 5-0. I turn the TV off and went back to doing work. ;)
