Hi Tom,

There was a third party VPN client that Nortel (now Avaya) licensed for MAC and Linux users… although that was years ago now. I can’t remember the name but it shouldn’t be too hard to track down with Google.

Thanks for direct download links. Do you know perhaps if it is possible to find a tool to connect to Awaya VPN gateways from Linux or MAC OS? i.e. Are there some tools like these for Windows, just for Linux or MAC OS?

Hi,
Thanks for always updated client.

I post some of my experience in here,
I get the issue when install Avaya client in Windows 8, it always give me ‘activating vpn adapter failed’ error no matter I restart when re-install process or try different client version.
Then I realizred I face the same issue when use Cisco VPN, so I just throught maybe it’s similar to the value in reg file is not right. After I do change, its works fine now.
so I go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> NT_Nvca.
In description and displayname filed, the value is strange(I can’t remember the details, but it have some characters before ‘Avaya VPN Adapter’, removed that, only leave with ‘Avaya VPN Adapter’), then it works fine. If needed, restart the PC.

This works for me.

Hi Matthew,

That option is controller from the VPN router under the group settings.

how you download the vpn client from avaya website ? nothing append when accepting the EULA page !

This may be a dumb question, but I customize the vpn client software for deployment in our environment. I have still not been able to figure out how to allow local LAN access while connected to the VPN. Is this something that can be configured on the VPN client side or is this a config in the VPN router? Thanks!

I have an issue with Avaya VPN client on windows 8 suddenly with error: Avaya VPN component not able run. it’s suddenly gives this error.

And then I reinstall the Avaya vpn client with version .300. unlucky new error comes: activating vpn adapter failed even I reboot my OS.
it works fine now even I still do not know the error and what caused this.
here is what I do for works properly, since I have cisco vpn as well, so first uninstall all those VPN, both Cisco VPN and Avaya VPN. remove files and registry key for cisco:

and remove all install directry files for avaya vpn.
then restart -> install avaya vpn -> it works now. very stange, so till now, I do not know what wrong, but good news for me is it works.
post in here just incase somebody have same issue as me.

Thanks Michael. I still I have the problem that the installation returns back .I think the problem is that it can´t create avaya vpn adapter. in the device manager as an unknown device is generated. I’m desperate!
