Hi Piyush,

There’s not much advice I can provide beyond the obvious, make sure that you are logged in as an Administrator and make sure you have enough free disk space to expand the archive.

Good Luck!

Hi Dan,

You would need to speak to the administrator of your VPN router, those options are defined with the VPN router itself.

Good Luck!

sorry to ask such a dumb question – i cannot find anywhere in the client (nor online) to configure or check the split tunneling options – is this automatic or something? i’d like to be able to control the traffic so that pure internet traffic routes out via my local network at home instead of up to work and out that way…

thanks, dan

Hi Alex,

I really haven’t been utilizing this VPN client myself lately so I can really speak to your question. You’ve added rules to allow all communications to/from the VPN router? I would suggest you test by uninstalling the ESET client, if the VPN client works you should be able to contact ESET for support.

Cheers!

Do you know any software firewall compatible with this vpn?

A clean install of windows 8 and the latest software you suggested did end up working. I guess I took the lazy path by upgrading the OS rather than a clean install like I normally do. Thanks again.

Hi Kyle,

You might want to try the latest client, although I’m not sure if Avaya intends to release a Windows 8 version with the Avaya VPN Router being end-of-life and all.

I think I hosed my work environment (whichs requires VPN) by upgrading to windows 8.

We’re on a very old Nortel version that isn’t really Windows7 compatible so it would be a big help, cause it helps us deploy the VPN client with the settings already integrated. It is a true timesaver, just like your awesome blog. Thanks!

Hi Birkof,

I’ve never personally observed that problem so I can’t really say how to fix it other than to point to the documentation that you’ve already seen.

Do you have access to the AVR (Avaya VPN Router)? Is the AVR running software release 8.x or higher?

Unfortunately, I can’t really say what the issue is because I’ve never personally seen it or had to troubleshoot it myself. I know the IPSec connection isn’t very tolerable of poor Internet connections. If you start a constant ping to the AVR do you see any ICMP timeouts?

Sorry.
