I was only recently was made aware of a Technology Forum that Avaya will be holding on February 6 – 9 in Orlando, Florida. I’m told that the event will focus heavily on network technologies. I’ve looked over the breakout sessions and they are very impressive… now if I can just convince the boss to send me… all kidding aside if I plan to attend I’ll update this post and we can have an impromptu meet-up with anyone that interested in talking shop.
Here’s a quick blurb from Avaya’s website;
This 3 day technical engineering forum will address technology, solutions, business applications and real world network deployment challenges in a workshop format with detailed technical presentations, deployment methods, observations and demonstrations.
If you are interested in attending you can register at this URL, https://atac.avaya.com/etf/etf.asp
Cheers!

The topics of the breakout sessions certainly look interesting! It might be interesting if they could provide some reading material (PDF’s, powerpoints, …) of these afterwards.

Hi Bylie,
The breakout sessions look real interesting and from what I’ve heard from Avaya they intend on having some really knowledgeable people attending so that’s a huge plus in my opinion. In addition, who wouldn’t mind getting down to Florida during the winter months… (this coming from someone living in the Northeast)
;)
Cheers!

will Avaya telephones work with a POTS line… I like the phone and the capability but the functions i need it for require i use a POTS
Michael McNamara says
Hi Phill,
You would need an analog phone to work directly with a POTS line. Unless your going to be utilizing a Call Server that will tie your IP or digital phones together, then you could connect the POTS line to your Call Server (say something like a BCM or an Asterisk solution).
Good Luck!

Hey Michael,
I was wondering if you would be so kind and send me version of Avaya VPN Client Release 10.04.108 for Windows 7 (64-bit) [and 109 if you have it].
I am facing this issue “Failed to connect for the following reason: The banner message from the VPN Router was not received, or the user didn’t acknowledeged the banner. Please contact your Network Administartor or Helpdesk for assistance.” –and it is giving me a hard time.
Have a good one!
Thanks.
