Upgrading to rel. 3.2 is not so great; No web interface that I can find, quite slow screen reaction time, I can’ t have two different lines (DNs). How can I downgrade to previous fw?? I can’t find the setting for TFTP server address. I know it’s looking for sw update but where?? Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

Mine is connecting to a CS1K. I had downgrade to 2.x to get working again. Documentation is vague but seems that the basic functionality should work. The following message was on the screen after 30 days;

“Information;
Could not obtain license

I haven’t personally tried it yet but I’ll send a few messages and see if we can get some type of response.

Cheers!

However the 30 day trial token has now expired and I have been trying to turn off the features that require the token with little luck.

I have tried several config entries to turn off the 3 remaining enhanced features selected: Authentication Security, Signalling Security TLS and USB Headset Support.

I have read through all the documentation I could find but still can’t get these de-selected. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I’ve now narrowed it down to a problem with the Mitel 3300 as I’ve been able to connect the 1200 series phone to an Asterisk server. All I need now is some help with the Mitel.

What version of software is the 1230 IP phone running (3.2 I hope right)? You might also want to confirm that you don’t have a feature enabled that requires an “advanced” license. I haven’t had the time personally to connect a Nortel/Avaya 1200 series IP phone to a non-Avaya SIP backend, although I might try connecting a few handsets up to Asterisk for fun.

Good Luck!

It appears to begin to log in but gets stuck on getting a license. I get an error message saying “failed to obtain token license”.

From reading the article it would appear I can have a standard SIP phone without a token license. Does anyoen know how to turn of the license part? I can’t find any documentation on this.

Any help greatly appreaciated. Thanks

Hi Gord,

It’s good to see that you’re still at Avaya. I’ve heard that Avaya will be announcing a new voice mail solution (if you haven’t already).

Thanks for the link!
