Where is that command Scott?

I would assume that it just resets the stack process.

Cheers!

Will that just initiate a warm reboot, or will it reset the stack to factory default values?

Thanks!

Hi Shaun,

The ASCII configuration generator (ACG) doesn’t seem to support the UI option. You can check the configuration with the command “show ui-button”. The setting is stored in the configuration but the ACG doesn’t support exporting this option to ASCII.

Avaya switches traditional store their configuration in a binary format… the ACG was written to provide an ASCII version of that binary configuration. Unfortunately there are several features/options which the ACG doesn’t support so they don’t appear in the ASCII configuration (show running-config).

Cheers!

Are you experiencing the same thing? Currently I do not have any on-shelf spares to test this with (scary!). I’m wondering how the stack retains this setting if is is not showing up in the ASCII Configuration.

It’s the typical… user in closet unwittingly starts pushing button causing outage to very high profile stack of 5500 series switches. Thankfully they only caused the stack to reboot and didn’t reset the management IP address.

I personally only learned of the user interface button a few month ago from a work colleague.

There’s always something new to learn!
Cheers!
