You are absolutely correct…

I guess the point being that you shouldn’t assume your fiber will run 10GE just because it’s running 1GE today.

I must say I enjoyed reading some of the whitepapers hosted on Arista Networks. It’s always a challenge trying to whittle down the technical details to senior leadership and your whitepapers make several good points.

One clarification: it is true that 10GBASE-SR has a reach of 26 meters over legacy OM1 multimode fiber, but over OM3 multimode fiber, 10GBASE-SR has a reach of 300m.
