The info on the provider website didn’t help. Much appreciated!

Verizon has a newer remote control (with 2 on/off buttons as you commented) so this post really doesn’t apply.

I was able to follow the instructions and get my Sony TV to work properly.

You should find all the instructions at this URL;

Good Luck!

I have tried all corrective actions on the guide, but no avail. My remote is RC2655005/01B. My STB is only few months old, and Mu Tv is Toshiba, 3 years old. A similar remote works well on my Living Room Tv Please HELP!
The remote on the other TV will just turn on off the STB. My STB is HD dip 7100-1, Motorola. Either the remote is defective or the STB is, or both. This is the replacement STB they sent me when the forst one went bad. I have checked all my wiring and connections. I can watch TV and operate it, just can not see the guide and use the last button.

Hi Ramesh,

I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues. What model of STB do you have? You need to troubleshoot so you can determine what’s at fault… the remote or the STB.

What if you use the remote from your living room? Does the STB respond (the TV may not since you might have a different TV in that room with a different code).

Good Luck!

Hi Chris,

Is the remote similar to the picture in the article above? I ask because there are a few different remotes out there depending on the area of the country and the STB type. Not knowing how “techie” you are… when you press the volume + or volume – buttons does the TV button on the top light up? Assuming the button lights up you might need to re-program the remote for your specific TV. If the light doesn’t light up then the batteries might be dead or the remote might be defective.

Good Luck!

Last week I came home and nothing (tv remote OR fios stb remote) would work the power or volume controls. After fiddling with different settings it all started to work again and the world was fine. Now it has happened again, no control over the TV power or volume controls again. What I did last time is not working, I cannot restore control of volume or power for the TV. I am sure the kids are messing with some setting but I cant figure it out.

I’m surprised by your experience. I’ve seen Verizon go to great lengths with the FiOS installations to make sure that customers were 110% satisfied which is certainly not the norm these days with almost any organization, except health care! :)

Now there is an issue with the remote that comes with the DCT700 (not pictured above) in that it will NOT turn on/off all of the devices using a single PwR button. You must turn on/off each device individually by selecting the TV, DVD, STB button from the top of the remote. You can certainly still use the same remote you just need to program the code for your specific TV.

If you have a remote similar to the one pictured in the article above then you can most certainly turn on/off all the devices with a push of one button.

Cheers!

When my sister & I lived together and got fios, the remote turned on and off with the stb key (TV & box together). My sister moved and my brother moved in with me – we kept fios but it was changed to his name and they had to come out and take my sister’s equipment out and put new in. Now the remote won’t turn the Sansui tv on or off with any key. The installer said he didn’t know how to fix the problem – just use the tv remote for the tv. HUH?????????
