Step 1: Console to the switch at 19200
Step 2: At the login DO NOT type “cli”, instead, type “reset”.
Step 3: It will prompt with the message “WARNING: This will wipe out the configuration…” and ask for a password.
Step 4: Enter “FactoryDefault” as the password, and the switch will reset to default and begin a reboot!

I found my information here: hxxp://support.scansource.com/scripts/sseasyfaqs.cfg/php.exe/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=hJ1VX6il&p_lva=&p_faqid=4191&p_created=1310407513&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9OTk4JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=

Hi Francisco,

The RFS6000 utilizes a standard Cisco pinout.

Good Luck!

Hi Mark,

You’ll need to connect to the console port (19200-8-N-1) with a crossover serial cable. Power cycle the WS2000 and you should be able to break out of the boot-up cycle by either hitting the ESC key or holding it (can’t remember right now). If that’s successful you should get a command line prompt at which you should enter “passwd default” and you should enter “reboot” to reboot the controller. Depending on the firmware/software release you have installed the default username will be “admin” and the password will either be “symbol” or “motorola”.

Good Luck!

Is there a way to reset the user name and password to the default. I have tried various options but none so far have worked. Does anyone know how to reset everything back to factory default when you do not know the password?

Hi Raul,

Let me suggest that you take any future issues to the discussion forums.

I’m assuming you can ping the interface?

I believe the default configuration is for HTTPS. I would try https://10.1.1.100

Good Luck!

Hi Omar,

You will lose the configuration but you’ll have access to the switch again so you can re-configure it as you like.

Good Luck!

What exactly do you mean by “could not connect to it?” You couldn’t get a login prompt? You realize that at the “login” prompt you need to use the userID of “cli” and then at the username prompt use “admin” followed by “superuser”.

Good Luck!
