Hi Guys,

There is no issue at all running PIM-SM on a stack of 5000 switches. I am doing this now, on a campus environment with 63 x 5300 distribution stacks.

One thing I will point out is that there are are couple of bugs with PIM-SM on code versions prior to 6.2.1.

One is – no support for PIM Virtual Neighbor (this precludes PIM-SM use in a VRRP environment) and the other is a display bug in the output from your mroute command above Michael. The wrong info is displayed.

Both of these were fixed in 6.2.1.

As i understand it Michael, PIM-SM can only be executed on a stand alone ERS5520, not a stack at the present time?
I’m awaiting the day when Avaya develop the Small Campus Architecture to include Multicast operations using the 5000 series switches.
